Riviera Marketing was founded in 1993 as an umbrella company for a new internet venture and unique product that I created. The internet venture known as ‘The Baitshop.com’ and our original product, ‘Tom's Tackle Tips,’ eventually grew into a successful outdoor-related online gift store.
The Baitshop.com online store offered a variety of unique personalized and non-personalized outdoor-related gifts. We manufactured the original product in-house and utilized quality vendors for our wide assortment of unique gift items, which were dropped ship directly to the customers. www.thebaitshop.com, with ease, survived the dot-com crash of 2000-2002.
The company eventually expanded into these areas: multimedia content creation, multimedia and software manufacturing, audio studio services, as well as the product fulfillment arena. Utilizing my background in R&D, Riviera Marketing offered some unique methods for printing on CDs and DVDs. These new printing methods utilized the entire available print surface on CDs and DVDs as well as offering image quality at 600 dpi, overshadowing standard methods, which could only utilize 300 dpi images.
With these new products, we were able to solve printing challenges on various projects and products for many companies, including Abbott Labs, Baxter Laboratories, Oxford University Press, Bosch, Dremel, and Skil, to name a few. Riviera's services and products were accomplished, both in-house and as a brokerage house, working with some strong strategic partners. Unfortunately, the events of September 11, 2001, changed the working model, but we survived. However, after another successful fifteen years, hard media reached its maturity phase, and hard media products were replaced by digital products. I moved into other areas to broaden my horizons, and Riviera remained a viable resource for reorders and special projects for our customers.
The 2001 version of Riviera's website slowly became outdated, and in late 2022, I decided to take the site offline to prevent the site from being compromised. Rather than rebuilding the old site, I decided to create a new one with a new focus, still utilizing Riviera Marketing’s long-standing name for its original purpose of marketing unique products, branding, and public relations. Welcome to the new Riviera Marketing website 2024 and our new direction!
Best Regards, Thomas M. Grange, CEO
